Experience it like a local
For 5 days we leave the present behind and travel into a world of Pharaohs, pyramids and mysteries thousands of years old. We stand before the Pyramids of Giza and the Sphinx, discover the treasures of the Grand Egyptian Museum and get lost in the colours of Khan El Khalili. At night the Nile carries us along with dinner and a show. Then the scene changes: legendary Alexandria, city of Alexander the Great and Cavafy. Two legendary cities, thousands of years of history — a journey back in time.

We meet at Athens International Airport and set off for Cairo, where our local partner will be waiting to welcome us. After checking into our hotel, we head out for an evening of exploring, food, and drinks.
One of the most unforgettable days of our journey! We discover the legendary Pyramids of Khufu, Khafre, and Menkaure, the mysterious Great Sphinx of Giza, and the spectacular Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM). Along the way, we explore the ancient art of papyrus making and traditional Egyptian perfumes, enjoy lunch at a local restaurant, and finish our sightseeing at the historic Khan El Khalili Bazaar, a vibrant world of colors, spices, and glowing lanterns. And what better way to end the day than with a magical Nile Dinner Cruise featuring live entertainment? As we sail along the legendary Nile River, we enjoy a delicious dinner against the breathtaking backdrop of Cairo's illuminated skyline, accompanied by a traditional Egyptian entertainment show.
Saladin's Citadel and, inside it, the Alabaster Mosque of Muhammad Ali with city views. On to Old Cairo and the Greek Orthodox Church of St George, then the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization (NMEC). Lunch at a local restaurant and free time.
Alexander the Great's city on the Mediterranean. The Greek Orthodox Patriarchate, the Unknown Soldier Memorial, the Cavafy House, Qaitbay fort where the Lighthouse once stood, a panoramic tour of Montaza and the modern Bibliotheca Alexandrina. Fish lunch at the Fish Market and back to Cairo.
We say goodbye to Egypt and fly back to Athens. A part of us stays behind — somewhere between the Pyramids, the Nile and the scents of Cairo. Some trips end… and some stay with you forever.

Practical, no small print
Transportation throughout Egypt will be provided by private coach or minivans. For certain journeys and excursions, local vehicles with professional drivers may also be used.
A passport valid for at least 6 months from the date of arrival is required for travel to Egypt.
An entry visa can be obtained either online or upon arrival at the airport, at an approximate cost of USD 36.
Travelers who do not hold a Greek passport or a passport issued by a European Union member state should contact the relevant embassy or consulate, as different entry requirements may apply.
April is an excellent time to explore Egypt, as we avoid the intense heat of the summer months and can enjoy our full-day sightseeing tours in greater comfort.
In Cairo and Alexandria, the days are usually warm and sunny, with more pleasant temperatures in the mornings and evenings. In Cairo, daytime highs in late April typically range between 28–32°C, while Alexandria tends to be slightly cooler thanks to its Mediterranean coastal location.
Rainfall is minimal, particularly in Cairo, making the weather ideal for our visits to the Pyramids of Giza, the Grand Egyptian Museum, Old Cairo, and our full-day excursion to Alexandria.
The Egyptian sun can be strong even in spring, so a hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen will be essential throughout our trip.
For our trip from April 21–25, we recommend choosing comfortable, lightweight clothing for the warm days, while also bringing an extra layer for cooler evenings and air-conditioned spaces.
- Lightweight, breathable clothing, preferably made from cotton or linen.
- A hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen, especially for our visit to the Pyramids.
- Very comfortable walking shoes for full-day sightseeing tours and exploring on foot.
- A light jacket or cardigan for evenings, flights, and air-conditioned spaces.
- Clothing that covers your shoulders and knees when visiting mosques and other religious sites.
- A small daypack to carry water, personal belongings, and anything else you may need during our excursions.
There is no need for winter gear or heavy clothing. Comfort is our priority, as our itinerary includes several hours of exploration each day.
In Egypt, you can purchase a local SIM card upon arrival, either at the airport or at mobile network provider stores in Cairo.
For greater convenience, you can also install an eSIM before your trip, provided your smartphone supports it. We recommend exploring options such as Vodafone Travel, My eSIM, and Revolut, although you are welcome to compare other providers to find the best option for your needs.
Important: Egypt is outside the European Union, which means your Greek mobile plan is not covered by the EU's “Roam Like at Home” policy. Be sure to check your mobile provider's roaming charges before using mobile data.
Wi-Fi is available at our hotels, and mobile network coverage in Cairo and Alexandria is generally very good.
The local currency in Egypt is the Egyptian Pound (EGP).
We recommend carrying a small amount of cash for everyday purchases, small shops, and local markets, particularly at Khan El Khalili Bazaar. International credit and debit cards are generally accepted at hotels, larger restaurants, and established retail stores.
Since our itinerary is already quite comprehensive and includes daily breakfasts, three meals, and a Dinner Cruise with dinner included, your additional personal expenses can remain relatively low.
For our 5-day trip, we recommend budgeting approximately €200–€350 per person, depending on your shopping preferences, additional meals and drinks, and other personal expenses.
As with any trip abroad, we recommend bringing a few essential medications in case you need them, such as painkillers, fever reducers, anti-nausea medication, sunscreen, and any other personal medical supplies you may require.
One of the most important things to pack for this trip is medication for stomach discomfort and digestive issues.
-Power bank: Our days will be packed with sightseeing, exploring, and, of course, plenty of photo opportunities.
-Small daypack: To carry water, sunscreen, your power bank, and personal belongings.
-Camera or smartphone with a good camera: The Pyramids, the Nile, and Alexandria will take care of the rest!
-Reusable water bottle or insulated flask: To stay hydrated throughout our daily excursions.
-Travel plug adapter: Egypt mainly uses Type C and Type F electrical outlets, just like Greece, so most Greek electrical devices will not require an adapter.
